SASSA: All the social grant payment dates for recipients

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is in charge of paying the right social grant, to the right recipients, and at the right time.

Social grants include the Disability Grant, the Older Persons (Pensioners) Grant, the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) Grant, and the Childcare and Veterans Grants.

If your social grant has been approved, which social grant is set to pay now that it’s January, 2024?

Here’s what you should know about all the next social grant dates for SASSA recipients.

SASSA: Which social grant pays NEXT for recipients?

The first social grant to be paid to approved SASSA reicpients is the Older Persons (Pensioners) Grant, which paid out on 3 January, 2024.

If your social grant is approved, it should already be paid into your account or ready for collection at selected pay-points.

Other social grants from SASSA will be paid out later, according to the information provided below.

SASSA: All the social grant payment dates for recipients

The social grant payment dates have been released by SASSA, and approved social grants can be collected on the following dates:

  • Older Persons (Pensioners) Grants will pay out on 3 January, 2024.
  • Disability Grants will be paid on 4 January, 2024.
  • Other social grants, including the Child Support Grant and In-Aid Grant, will be paid on 5 January, 2024.

The last social grant on this list is expected to be the R350-SRD Grant, which is expected to be issued at a later point in the month.

About SASSA updates for 2024

The South African Social Security Agency have also announced several important updates for 2024, including the validity of Gold Cards for the rest of the year.
