Disgraced former Steinhoff International CEO Markus Jooste reportedly committed suicide during an arrest on Thursday. 

He was 63.

Newzroom Afrika reported that sources close to the Steinhoff investigation confirmed that Jooste shot himself.

Where to get a FREE vehicle safety check ahead of Easter

Roads during the Easter period are notoriously dangerous. In an effort to help make South African roads safer over Easter, the Vehicle Testing Association (VTA) is offering complimentary safety checks from 25 – 28 March.

Julian Pillay, the national director of VTA, says that while modern cars are designed to be safe and reliable, wear and tear can compromise their performance, posing risks to passengers’ safety.
