‘MK Party in the hands of ANC spies and proxies,’ says Phumlani Mfeka

A senior member of the uMkhonto WeSizwe (MK) Party in KwaZulu-Natal.(KZN), says Zuma has lost control of the party and that it has been infiltrated by  “spies and proxies” controlled by the ANC.

Phumlani Mfeka who withdrew from the MK Party’s parliamentary list of candidates, wrote an explosive letter to the national leadership including former president Jacob Zuma, saying the party has been infiltrated.

ANC SPIES HAVE INFILTRATED MK PARTY – SAYS MFEKA

According to the Independent Online, he named former ANC and South African National Civic Organisation leader Thulani Gamede as among the “spies” of the ANC NEC member.

Mfeka said there had been no consultations over the parliamentary and provincial legislatures’ lists, saying it had been decided by a few opportunists who had taken control of the organisation.

He said he was called on his cellphone by Gamede at the last minute to bring his ID document so that he could be included in the parliamentary list.

“I was called on March 7, which was the Electoral Commission of South Africa’s deadline for the submission of the lists,” Mfeka said, according to the publication.

MK RALLY IN KWAXIMBA FUNDED BY BUSINESS PEOPLE – SAYS MFEKA

“I asked myself why I was called by Gamede, just a regional convener, not by Muzi Ntshingila, who is head of elections. I got suspicious but accepted that my name be included on the list,” he added. Gamede is currently the party’s convener in the eThekwini region.

Mfeka also questioned the MK Party’s funding source, saying they were all surprised and asked themselves who funded the first successful party rally in KwaXimba, west of Durban.

He said that the rally was funded by business people aligned with the opportunists now in control of the party.

ANC provincial spokesperson Mafika Mndebele denied any involvement in the MK Party, saying the only concern the ANC had with Zuma’s party was that it should stop using MK’s name as it was the heritage of the ANC.
