Jacob Zuma’s daughter Thuthukile votes for the ANC

Despite her father leading the newly-formed uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party Jacob Zuma’s daughter Thuthukile says she cast her vote for the African National Congress (ANC).

Zuma cast her special vote in Johannesburg ahead of the National and Provincial Elections on Wednesday, 29 May.

In a video shared on social media, Thuthukile who is also serving in the ANC Johannesburg Regional Executive Committee (REC) said she voted for the ruling party.

After voting, Zuma’s daughter who joined the ANC Youth League when she was 16 said she defended democratic gains by voting for the ruling party.

Earlier this year, Thuthukile took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to praise her parents Jacob Zuma and former COGTA Minister Dr Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma.

In an interview with Newzroom Afrika Zuma said what prompted the tweet was that it is the truth and that was her thoughts in that moment and assured in the interview that on her X account she posts whatever comes to mind.

” With regards, to people trying to pull me in different directions, I have one direction and that being member and the leader of the ANC and greater Johannesburg,” said Zuma.

In the interview she stated that she did not know the details of the formation of the MK Party but says its unfortunate for the ANC to lose a member.

“After the elections the ANC must introspect on how it manages internal contradictions to avoid such a situation,” said Zuma.
