Moving from Hanamub? Orlando Pirates find new left back target!

Orlando Pirates have been looking to enhance their left side of defence for a while and may have a new target!

It is set to be a transfer window of change at Pirates, with the club looking to address many playing departments.]

Having already released two players in Saouibou Marou and Fortune Makaringe, many are expected to follow that duo. That will then open spaces in the squad that will need to be filled by signings. One position that is believe to already be bare is the left-back. As it stands Pirates are relying on Deon Hotto, Paseka Mako and captain Innocent Maela as options at left-back. They also have former Moroka Swallows loanee Bongani Sam in that position. The Gqeberha-native spent the second half of the season in the wilderness, however, after being released by the Dube Birds. It is not expected that he will form part of the Buccaneers team either, next season.

Pirates were interested in Hanamub

With age not on the side of Hotto and Maela, while Mako has proven injury prone, a signing makes sense. It has also not been a secret that Pirates have been huge admirers of AmaZulu left-back Riaan Hanamub. But with this publication reporting on Wednesday that he has extended his stay at Usuthu, he is now unlikely yo join.

But Pirates don’t seem to be hanging around, and according to FARPost, they have identified a new target. That in the form of former Cape Town Spurs loanee Gadiel Kamagi. The player spent the season in the DStv Premiership on loan from Tanazian Premier League side Singida Fountain Gate FC.

Now according to Singida FC president Japhet Makau seven clubs in the SA topflight are interested in Kamagi.

Now moving on to Kamagi?

“Seven PSL clubs want him. It’s still internal so I can’t reveal the names. But he (Kamagi) is definitely not staying at Cape Town Spurs,” he said to the publication.

FARPost understands that Sekhukhune United, AmaZulu FC, Orlando Pirates and Chippa United are some of the interested clubs.”  The publication then also wrote.

Kamagi famously scored the winner against Pirates at the Orlando Stadium in February, a worldie! Would you take him at the club Buccaneers?
