Kaizer Chiefs: Surprise new coach spotted on plane

Several new faces have joined up with Kaizer Chiefs as they jetted off to embark on their pre-season tour of Turkey.

THREE new players were spotted with Kaizer Chiefs as they sent a new-look squad to Turkey.

Meanwhile, a new coach was spotted with Amakhosi.

Chiefs departed South Africa for their pre-season tour of Europe. Interestingly, their departure has left South Africa with plenty to talk about.

In fact, several new faces were spotted with the team. Firstly, a former Orlando Pirates player has reportedly signed for Amakhosi. Additionally, two Amakhosi youngsters have been given the chance to impress management during the tour.

“Orlando Pirates are understood to have given defender Bongani Sam the greenlight to discuss personal terms with Kaizer Chiefs. SABC Sport can reveal the two parties have reached an unprecedented agreement that would see a player move between the two Soweto giants should he pass a medical and have the finer details ironed out,” the report read on SABCSport.

However, the surprises did not stop there. In fact, another new face was spotted. This time it was a new coach – and it is not Nasreddine Nabi.

Majdi Safi, is the another new face who was seen with Chiefs on the plane. So, he is set to be announced as their new conditioning coach. Meaning, he has joined up with Fernando Da Cruz and Ilyes Mzoughi as the new Amakhosi coaches seen boarding with the Soweto Giants.

“Members of the technical staff, including Fernando da Cruz, Ilyes Mzoughi, and conditioning coach Majdi Safi, were part of the traveling party,” FarPost stated.

Nasreddine Nabi has wrapped up the season with AS FAR. Whilst, he has officially said goodbye to his former side.

“Dear soldiers, out of respect for all the support you have given me, I must clarify the situation. It is with mixed feelings that I announce my journey as coach of AS FAR has come to an end. After a difficult season of hard work and intense moments shared together, it is time for me to say goodbye,” Nabi said according to UnplayableZA.

Meaning, Chiefs are expected to announce him as their new head coach very soon. Initially, they were waiting for him to finish the Throne Cup which is now over. Therefore, he is likely to join up with the team soon.

“They will be joined by head coach Nasreddine Nabi, second assistant Khalil Ben Youssef, and performance analyst Ayman Makroud in Turkey, completing the coaching contingent for the crucial pre-season phase,” he continued.
