Kaizer Chiefs to host Nabi’s former team in preseason

Kaizer Chiefs will play Nasreddine Nabi‘s former team Young Africans SC in the inaugural Toyota Cup match.

Nabi(58) was recently appointed as Amakhosi’s new coach. The Tunisian coach won back-to-back titles with the Tanzanian giants before leaving for Morocco last year. Chiefs are currently in Turkey in preparation for the 2024.25 PSL season and will play several top teams in the coming weeks.

With Nabi joining the Kaizer Chiefs squad this week for the first time, the club is confident that the Tunisian mentor and his technical team can change Amakhosi’s fortunes. Chiefs’ real test will come when they face Yanga in the Toyota Cup end of July.

“We are excited to be launching this ground-breaking initiative through our partnership with Toyota,” said Chiefs’ Marketing Director Jessica Motaung.

“In Yanga, our Club has found brand synergies that align to our objective of enhancing the African football brand, and through the Toyota Cup, we look forward to collectively working together in achieving this,” she said.
