Yoh! Onalenna reflects on ‘foolish’ fumble at Miss SA

Onalenna Constantin has laughed off her infamous fumble at the Miss SA pageant, which she was tipped to win.

The model and law student – who is also married – made headlines after she stuttered her way through a crucial question-and-answer session.

She was also harshly criticised for seemingly defending her friend, former finalist Chidimma Adetshina.

Ultimately, Mia Le Roux was crowned Miss SA – the first deaf pageant winner in history – in a glittering ceremony over the weekend.

In an Instagram post, Onalenna Constantin reflected on losing the title of Miss SA over the weekend.  Many believe it was over her answers during the “quick fire” round.

The content creator posted a quote that read: “If you’re not willing to look like a foolish beginner, you cannot be a graceful master.”

In a heartfelt message, she also thanked her mother, brother, and husband. Thanking her supporters, she added, “Your love and support does not go unnoticed.”

In Onalenna’s final Top 3 question and answer round, she fumbled over her words, running out of time in her interpretation of the question: “What are some of the changes you would bring to South Africa as a nation.”

After waffling for a few seconds, the nervous contestant said, “The one thing I would change is….” before a buzzer signalled that she had exceeded her time limit.

“Yoh!” she added before walking off.
