Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule’s family confirms memorial services
The memorial service of Crown Gospel Music Awards executive producer, Zanele Mbokazi- Nkambule has been confirmed.
Her family confirmed she passed away on Monday, 12 August at Parklands Hospital after losing the battled to cancer.

Zanele Mbokazi- Nkambule’s husband Bishop Mpendulo Nkambule announced on Instagram that her memorial service will be held on Thursday, 15 August at GNF Durban station.
The family also reveals that her funeral service will be held on Saturday, 17 August at Durban ICC.
The Mbokazi-Nkambule family confirmed Zanele’s passing in a statement: “It is with a heavy heart that we the Nkambule and Mbokazi family announce the passing of our dearly beloved Ms Zanele Mbokazi-Nkambule, founder of Crown Gospel Music Awards and Ukhozi FM radio personality.”
“She departed to be with the Lord, early hours of 12 August 2024, at Parklands Hospital. We are grateful for all the prayers, love and support we received throughout her illness,” reads the statement.
Mbokazi-Nkambule’s husband also confirmed in May on Ukhozi FM’s breakfast show that she the TV personality was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Nkambule said the family decided to make the diagnosis known amid rife speculation on social media regarding Zanele’s ill health, which has led to her absence from the airwaves.
Mbokazi hosted the station’s popular gospel show, Eshilo, every Sunday from 09:00 to 12:00.
The family has asked for privacy during this challenging time.
