Deal agreed! ex-Sundowns star to reunite with Rulani Mokwena!

Rulani Mokwena seems to already be having the desired effect on the Wydad Casablanca transfer regime if the latest is true!

Mokwena joined Wydad after leaving Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of last season and is now for a new chapter.

Mokwena enjoying transfer backing at Wydad

After joining the club, Mokwena has already been seeing an abundance of love from supporters. He also seems to have quickly got his playing philosophy nailed on to the Wydad side. It now looks like the early signs are encouraging the club regime to back his wishes on the transfer market. Last week, he reportedly made it no secret that he hopes to sign former Sundowns player Percy Tau

Mokwena has always spoken about the special relationship he shares with Tau, dating back to their their Sundowns days. But he is not the only former Sandwana that seems to be interesting him and the club. The other is Cassius Mailula, who he promoted and helped develop into a starter at the Chloorkop-based club. The young forward excelled so much that he left after his first season, joining MLS side Toronto FC.

Now according to Soccer-Laduma, an agreement has been struck for Mailula to join Mokwena at Wydad, on a season-long loan.

Mailula set to snub Sundowns interest to join him?

“Expect the deal to be Finalised this week, and Cassius Mailula is likely to appear in the colours of Wydad this season. The parties have agreed on almost everything, and it’s just a matter of him putting pen to paper to conclude. The arrangement has been that he will sign today (Monday). He is excited about it, the coach (Mokwena) is happy, as well as the player’s camp,” said a source to the same publication.

This will be a massive coup for Mokwena and Wydad, as Mailula possess a lot of quality. Sundowns were also rumoured to have shown interest in the player. Is a return to the African continent the right move for the player? Feel free to leave your thoughts and feelings in the comments below.
