This comes after first team goalkeeper Brandon Petersen suffered an injury during their pre-season preparations.
New signing Fiacre Ntwari looks set to be thrown into the deep end alongside Bruce Bvuma.
Kaizer Chiefs are yet to take a final decision on veteran goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune and with reports suggesting Petersen will miss around 10 matches, the club may be forced to keep Khune around as a back-up!
Another Kaizer Chiefs star suffers injury
“Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Brandon Petersen has been sidelined due to a finger injury, casting a shadow over the start of the Betway Premiership season for the Amakhosi,” – a FARPost report read.
“The exact nature of the injury remains unclear, but it occurred during pre-season training and has kept Petersen sidelined in recent matches.”
Petersen joins Tebogo Potsane, George Matlou and Mduduzi Mdantsane who are all currently out injured.
The good news however is that Dillon Solomons is on the mend. The speedy winger is back on the green grass after being sidelined with a serious shoulder injury.
In other transfer news, a former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder has resurfaced at a rival Premier Soccer League club.
Phathutshedzo Nange is looking to revive his professional career and the latest reports suggest he’s joined Marumo Gallants!
The undeniably talented midfielder endured a disaster spell at Kaizer Chiefs before reuniting with his favourite coach Gavin Hunt at SuperSport United.
His time at United however was far from decent, making just nine starts for the club before being off-loaded last month.
Former Kaizer Chiefs man to join Marumo Gallants
According to the latest transfer gossip, Phathutshedzo Nange has been training with Marumo Gallants ahead of the new season.
“He has been training with Gallants since leaving SSU under the watchful eye of Dylan Kerr who then left the club and was replaced by Dan Malesela,” an Idiski Times report read.

Gallants return to the top-flight after purchasing Swallows’ status. Their first match of the season is against Kaizer Chiefs on 14 September.
