Kaizer Chiefs still need to go into the market, says club legend

Kaizer Chiefs legend Isaac Mabotsa feels Amakhosi needs to go back into the market to sign more players.

The Soweto giants have already brought in Fiacre Ntwari, Bongani Sam, Gaston Sirino, Rushwin Dortley and Inacio Miguel. With the transfer window open until September, Mabotsa has urged Amakhosi to sign a few more players to compete for top orders.

The Kaizer Chiefs legend however has also praised the new signings so far. “I feel they have done well to replace the ones that have left,” Mabotsa told Soccer Laduma.

“A player like Dolly struggled with injury and even though age is not on Sirino’s side, he is someone who can give Chiefs two seasons. He is someone who can replace Dolly.

“Then someone like Bongani Sam can replace Hlanti. And if I am not mistaken, they did not renew Hlanti’s contract and maybe they were looking at his age.

Kaizer Chiefs legend wants more players

“Sam is still young and he was playing for Pirates. Yes, he did not get game time, but it shows you that he is a good player,” Mabotsa added

“For me, I feel that they still need to go into the market because we are lacking upfront. So far, they have done well, but they need a striker, someone who will score the goals.

“A striker will be important for them this season. If you check, the team is balanced, but they need someone who will give them goals,” he said.

Mabotsa is not the only legend that is praised Amakhosi’s new signings, ex-Kaizer Chiefs captain Neil Tovey was also happy with how his old club went about their business.
