Kaizer Chiefs are not giving up on Asanele Velebayi
Kaizer Chiefs are willing to do what it takes to sign young Cape Town Spurs winger Asanele Velebayi.
Amakhosi have had their first offer rejected but the Soweto giants appear to make another bid. The 21-year-old played 23 games for the Urban Warriors last season, scoring once.
According to reports, Velebayi will only be sold if the price is right and Kaizer Chiefs are expected to bid again. Spurs have said in the past that they are not willing to sell. A source told Phakaaathi that the youngster is keen to join Amakhosi.
“Asenele is young so it makes sense that Spurs are trying to get more money from his proposed transfer. The player is also interested in joining Chiefs, but for now he has to focus on his current club as Chiefs prepare to go back to Spurs with an improved offer,” said the source.
Kaizer Chiefs to make another bid for Velebayi
“You saw today that he had a good game and the Chiefs fans will love him because he’s quick on the wing and tricky to defend against. The good thing is that both clubs have a decent relationship after Rushwin’s (Dortley) move to Chiefs recently and hopefully they will come to an agreement.”
For now, the shop is closed for Velebayi as Kaizer Chiefs look for other options. It is unknown how much Spurs want for their star player.
Should Amakhosi spent big on Velebayi?
