Kaizer Chiefs’ offer for top PSL defender turned down, AmaZulu wants R8 million
AmaZulu have reportedly turned down Kaizer Chiefs‘ offer for Riaan Hanamub.
Usuthu are willing to sell their player to Amakhosi but for a good price. According to GOAL, Chiefs offered AmaZulu R3 million for the Namibian star but the KZN outfit turned the offer, demanding at least R10 million.
Both Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates have been chasing the quality left-back since he impressed at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations. AmaZulu president Sandile Zungu said the club is open to selling the 29-year-old defender.
“We are not a team that stands in the way of players, if he comes to us and says he wants to leave, we let him go,” Zungu said on Isolezwe.

“Hanamub still wants to stay in Usuthu. In fact, he came to us and told us that he still wanted to stay with us. This makes us happy, he is our key player.”
Kaizer Chiefs will likely return with a better offer for the AmaZulu star. The Soweto giants need a quality left-back having parted ways with Sifiso Hlanti. Edmilson Dove, who played as a left-back in some of the matches last season, is currently injured.
Before Kaizer Chiefs went in pursuit of AmaZulu’s Hannamub, the Soweto giants were eyeing Stellenbosch’s Fawaaz Basadien.
