Names of SEVEN players set to be released?

Orlando Pirates are set to release at least seven players before the start of the Betway Premiership.

According to Soccer Laduma, the Buccaneers are planning on selling or loaning out the seven players. Those players are goalkeeper Sphamandla Gumede, defenders Sandile Mthethwa and Bandile Shandu, and midfielders Siphelo Baloni, Azola Tshobeni, Goodman Mosele, and Katlego Otladisa.

According to an inside, Orlando Pirates are looking to trim their squad to 30.

“They want to cut the squad to a manageable size of between 30 and 32 players, down from over 40,” a source told Soccer Laduma.

“That’s why they are looking at letting some of these players leave. The seven players mentioned are currently on the list, with some potentially being loaned out while others could be sold.”

Mosele one of the players to leave Orlando Pirates?

“They need to manage the squad effectively and are working with other teams interested in these players. With time running out, it won’t be easy, but they are actively exploring options,” an inside added.

Orlando Pirates are participating in five different competitions this season. Jose Riveiro might need more than 30 players given how long the season might be for the team. Injuries and suspensions might force him to play some players out of position.

Orlando Pirates have already played three matches so far this season. They have reached the CAF Champions League second round as well as the MTN8 semi-finals.
