Runaway golf cart injures four at top SA course
Pinnacle Point Estate in Mossel Bay has confirmed that an accident took place involving a golf cart transporting four guests staying at a private property on the estate.
Video footage of the incident has been shared widely on social media.
Pinnacle Point general manager Charl van der Linde told Mossel Bay Advertiser that the accident took place on Saturday, 21 September just after 15:00 when the foursome were driving to Oyster Bay.
He said that going downhill, “they lost control of the golf cart as a result of what appeared to be brake failure”.
All four occupants of the golf cart were injured.
Emergency services were called and arrived at the scene scene ‘very quickly’.
A female patient was reportedly transported by ER24 to Mossel Bay provincial hospital with serious injuries, while the other occupants, two males and one female, were transported by Bay Grace Private Ambulance to Mossel Bay provincial hospital with minor injuries.
Van der Linde said the estate wished the guests a speedy recovery and he thanked emergency services for their quick response.
