Mother of Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeping coach dies
Kaizer Chiefs have confirmed news of the passing of goalkeeping coach Ilyes Mzoughi’s mother, Hasna Mansour on Thursday.
Mansour was immediately granted a leave of absence on compassionate grounds to return to his homeland to attend to the bereavement.
A statement posted on the official Kaizer Chiefs website read: “As one of our own, the entire Kaizer Chiefs Family feels strong empathy and stands in solidarity with Ilyes and his loved ones.”
Executive Chairman Dr Kaizer Motaung expressed his compassion with Mzoughi, telling www.kaizerchiefs.com, “I am really sorry to learn of the passing of Ilyes’ mother and on behalf of Kaizer Chiefs family I wish to extend my deep, sincere condolences to Ilyes and his family during this time of bereavement.”
“The thoughts and prayers of management, technical team, players and staff are with the Mzoughi family right now, as we wish them the strength to endure the grief of losing a beloved close relative.
“May her soul rest in eternal peace.”
Amakhosi will next be in Betway Premiership action on Saturday, 28 September when they host defending league champions Mamelodi Sundowns at the FNB Stadium.
Kick-off is at 15:00.
