Kaizer Chiefs target Musona to return to PSL?

Former Polokwane City striker Walter Musona could be on his way back to the Premier Soccer League(PSL).

The 28-year-old striker plays for Simba Bhora in the Zimbabwean Premier League. According to a Soccer Laduma insider, the Zimbabwean star is linked with a move back to the PSL.

“There are two clubs in South Africa which are interested in him. At first, we knew it was Kaizer Chiefs but now there are two different clubs interested and it’s the chairman who is dealing with that. But we know there are Premier League teams that are interested in him,” the insider said.

A second source said Musona’s return was unlikely as the transfer window in South African football had closed.

Walter Musona to return to the PSL

“If anything could happen, it could only happen in the January transfer window and that favours his club Simba Bhora who are chasing the league title in Zimbabwe and he is their main striker.

Walter Musona is the younger brother of Knowledge, who played for Kaizer Chiefs before leaving the PSL for Europe. Late last year, it was reported that the 28-year-old striker was on Amakhosi’s radar.

“It’s true that Kaizer Chiefs have shown interest in Walter(Musona). What I am not sure of is when is when they want to have a look at him,” Soccer Laduma said last year.

Amakhosi have signed seven new players during the transfer window this season. The team though are yet to bring in a new striker and it looks unlikely if Nasreddine Nabi will bring Musona back to the PSL.
