New Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach Cedric Kaze’s qualifications stun SA
Earlier this week, Kaizer Chiefs announced the appointment of Cedric Kaze as the new assistant coach for Nasreddine Nabi.
Kaze replaces Fernando da Cruz, who left the club just two months after he was appointed to be part of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
KAIZER CHIEFS STRENGTHENS TECHNICAL TEAM WITH CEDRIC KAZE AS ASSISTANT COACH
Kaze’s appointment saw him reuniting with Nabi, whom he had previously assisted during his stint with Tanzania giants and Young Africans.
Kaizer Chiefs sporting director Kaizer Motaung Jnr has since opened up on the new club’s signing.
Kaizer Motaung Jnr said, “Coach Cedric has demonstrated exceptional leadership and a deep understanding of the game throughout his coaching career.”
“His familiarity with coach Nabi’s methods and their proven partnership will be invaluable as we aim for excellence on the pitch,” he added.
Despite his appointment, fans have been trying to connect the dots about his career and the teams he has worked with.
IMPRESSIVE QUALIFICATIONS
The South African has since connected the dots about Cedric Kaze’s colourful career and academic achievements within the football fraternity.
The Burundian tactician worked with the FC Barcelona academy for two and a half years. Surprisingly, he has not worked with Barcelona alone.
The new Kaizer Chiefs assistant coach has had his internship study projects with several European clubs, including Schalke and Bayer Leverkusen.
Cedric Kaze has also worked with the Burundi National Team and has been involved across all verticals, having worked with the U17s, U20s and U23s.
Apart from Burundi, Cedric Kaze has also worked with Germany U21s.
He has also been honoured to work with some of the world’s celebrated stars, including Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos, Manuel Neuer, Matt Hummels, and Arturo Vidal.
However, Cedric Kaze also boasts several qualifications for football that make him stand out from the rest.
He holds an Honours Degree in Sports Science, a CAF A License, and a German Football A License.
He is also fluent in at least six languages, including French, Kirundi, Kiswahili, English, German, and Spanish.
A STAR-STUDDED TECHNICAL TEAM
No doubt Cedric Kaze joins a star-studded technical team that includes notable names like Khalil Ben Youssef.
Just like Cedric Kaze, Khali Ben Youssef has a CAF A license. He is also a CAF B license holder. Khalil Ben Youssef is a familiar figure in Nabi’s technical team.
He has been with the Tunissian tactician at Moroccan outfit AS Far and Tanzanian giants Young Africans. While at Young Africans, he worked as an analyst and assistant at AS Far.
Apart from those two, he has also worked as an assistant coach or video analyst with several African clubs. Some clubs include Al Adalah in Saudi Arabia, Stade Tunisien, and Club Africain in Tunisia.
Surprisingly, Nabi’s right hand holds an engineering degree. Khalil Ben Youssef is a biological engineering engineer.
