Tito Mboweni’s son teases his cooking skills

Tito Mboweni’s son has poked fun at his cooking skills, and his love of pilchards, during his funeral service on Saturday, 19 October.

The former Minister of Finance – who was laid to rest in his hometown of Tzaneen – was known for his bizarre culinary concoctions, particularly including tinned fish.

TITO MBOWENI TEASED OVER OVER LOVE OF PILCHARDS

In a touching tribute, Sello Mboweni reflected on his best memories of his father Tito. The music artist and model was accompanied by his two other siblings, brothers Tumelo and Pule.

In his speech, Sello laughed at his father’s reputation as the “Twitter Chef.”

He said: “He had an incredible way of seeing potential in others, even when they did not see it in themselves. He even believed in himself to be a five-star chef, as we all know him to be.”

Sello also made light of Tito’s love of Lucky Star pilchards, which was his favourite dish to prepare.

He said: “I find myself thinking of the night sky, something dad always loved, a sky full of stars. Now, when I look up, I know there is one shining a little brighter and closer to me, my own Lucky Star.
