Upcoming Fixtures in New Zealand: Springboks Set to Face Off Against All Blacks
The Springboks are poised to take on the All Blacks in New Zealand for next year’s Rugby Championship.
This presents an opportunity for the Springboks to seek revenge after recently defeating their historic rivals in South Africa, achieving victory in both matches for the first time since 2009, ultimately leading to their Rugby Championship triumph in 2019.
Before these matchups, they will host Italy, Georgia, Australia, and Argentina in South Africa in 2025, as confirmed by SA Rugby on Wednesday.
While the dates for the Incoming Series Tests and the home fixtures of the Rugby Championship have been finalized, SA Rugby will announce the venues and kick-off times at a later date.
Italy will return to South Africa for the first time since 2013 with matches against the Boks on July 5 and 12. Since their first visit in 1999, the Azzurri have played only seven Tests in South Africa.
A week later, the Boks will face Georgia on home ground for the second time, in line with World Rugby’s initiative to provide elite-level competition for emerging nations. The Lelos previously played a Test against South Africa in Pretoria in 2021, just before the pandemic-interrupted tour by the British & Irish Lions.
The Boks will commence their title defense in the Rugby Championship against the Wallabies, who will be hosting the British & Irish Lions in July, on consecutive weekends in August, specifically on the 16th and 23rd.
Following that, away Tests against the All Blacks in New Zealand are set for September 6 and 13, with the Boks wrapping up the Rugby Championship with home (September 27) and away (October 4) matches against Argentina.
Information regarding the venues for the All Blacks Tests, the away match in Argentina, and the November European tour will be shared in due course.
