Manchester United fan expelled from FA Cup Draw for protesting ticket prices live on BBC broadcast
An avid supporter of MANCHESTER UNITED claims he was “removed” from the FA Cup draw held at Old Trafford after expressing his concerns regarding the club’s increasing ticket prices during a live BBC broadcast.
The third-round draw took place at the home stadium of the reigning champions Man Utd on Monday evening.
Ruben Amorim’s team was paired against the record 14-time holders Arsenal in an exciting matchup at the Emirates Stadium.
Nevertheless, one passionate fan took the chance during the draw to convey a message to the club’s ownership.
Ticket prices at Old Trafford have surged to a staggering £66 per match.
Furthermore, the club has removed concessions for children and seniors, leading to protests prior to their 4-0 win over Everton on Sunday.
While BBC presenter Kelly Somers was covering the FA Cup draw with the trophy beside her, she was surrounded by Man Utd supporters.
As she spoke to the camera, one individual displayed a phone with the text: “£66 thieves”.
The protester later shared on X: “I got kicked out for this by the way.”
SunSport has contacted Man Utd for their comments.

Man Utd’s Supporters’ Trust has also expressed their discontent with the decision to hike ticket prices.
Since taking over football operations at Man Utd, co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has implemented various cost-cutting measures.

He has let go of 250 employees, stopped the payments on Sir Alex Ferguson’s £2 million yearly ambassadorial salary, cancelled the Christmas gathering and removed company credit cards and private chauffeurs.
Moreover, he has eliminated staff lunches, accommodations, extra tickets, and post-match celebrations.
In addition to the highly anticipated match between Arsenal and Man Utd, several other significant third-round matches include Manchester City vs Salford, Tamworth vs Tottenham, and Everton vs Peterborough – the latter of which might feature Ashley Young facing off against his son Tyler.
All matches are scheduled for the weekend of January 11, 2025.
The 32 teams that win in the third round will earn £115,000, while losing teams will receive £25,000.
All matches will conclude on the same day, as replays have been eliminated, instead opting for extra time and penalties if the scores are tied.
