Jayson Shaw emerged victorious over opposing captain Skyler Woodward with a flawless score of 5-0, enhancing the continent’s lead to five points and kicking off their night at 10-5.

Fedor Gorst managed to secure a point, but Francisco Sanchez Ruiz subsequently edged out Woodward 5-4, clinching the win.

Once Ruiz sank the deciding ball, he and his teammates celebrated by dancing atop the table to the tune of ‘Freed From Desire’ before a dejected US snooker audience.

This was a remarkable accomplishment for Shaw, as he secured the trophy during his first time as captain.

The Scot expressed: “I want to thank everyone who came out to support us.

“It has been a taxing experience, and it required significantly more effort this year. We prepared thoroughly before this event.

“It was a joy to have them on my team, and I look forward to the next opportunity.”

Team USA captain Woodward recognized the skill of his rivals but took pride in his own squad.
