Good Samaritan Injured While Intervening in Hijacking Attempt in Verulam, KZN
An attempted hijacking occurred early Sunday morning in Verulam, KwaZulu-Natal, resulting in an injury to a Good Samaritan. The event took place at approximately 02:31 on Jabu Ngcobo Road as a man was shot while helping a stranded motorist.
Attempted Hijacking
Reportedly, a female driver was traveling to Ndwedwe, KZN, when her white VW Polo sedan experienced a flat tire.

A passing driver stopped to help when the situation escalated. A white Nissan NP200 bakkie, with registration plates unknown, blocked both vehicles, and its occupants attempted to rob the stranded motorist and hijack one of the cars.

During the altercation, the Good Samaritan who had come to assist was shot in the arm. The suspects quickly fled the scene in their getaway vehicle.
Investigation Underway
Members of Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) arrived at the scene after receiving reports of the shooting. The injured individual was treated for his injuries at the location before being taken to a medical facility for additional care.

Officials are currently investigating the incident, and efforts are being made to apprehend the suspects involved.
