Bryony Frost makes her comeback in the saddle on Grand National contender Intense Raffles, opts out of Aintree.
BRYONY FROST has returned from France to take a notable ride on Grand National second-favorite Intense Raffles.
Nevertheless, the trailblazing jockey will not be able to ride the Thomas Gibney-trained Irish Grand National champion in the prominent Aintree race set for next April.
Frost moved to France earlier this year after landing a thrilling opportunity with prominent owners Simon Munir and Isaac Souede.

The wealthy duo owns the six-year-old gelding – currently rated at 14-1 for the world’s most prestigious race – and aim to run him over hurdles this season to maintain his rating.
With regular rider Daryl Jacob sidelined due to injury, Frost has been selected to pilot Intense Raffles for his seasonal debut at Navan this Saturday.
He will compete against challengers such as former Pertemps Final winner Good Time Jonny in the Listed 3m1f handicap hurdle set to start at 1.42pm.
Frost has been flourishing across the Channel, yet she has always expressed her desire to return home for the right opportunity.
And this certainly applies to Intense Raffles.
However, it appears that she may have to forego any aspirations of riding him in the Grand National itself, as Munir and Souede’s retained rider Jacob is expected to resume the ride.
Their racing manager Anthony Bromley stated: “Tom is very pleased with the horse, and he’s ready to get started.
“I don’t think he’s been assigned too harshly for this hurdle start with a handicap mark of 141, but we’ll see how it unfolds.”
“Bryony is keen to ride him; she’s coming over on Friday to sit on him and will ride him on Saturday.”
“Daryl is injured, and so is JJ Slevin; both are currently out of action, and Bryony isn’t racing in France this Saturday.”
“This turned out to be an excellent solution; she’s a great replacement, and we look forward to seeing him tackle hurdles.”
“When Daryl comes back, he will reclaim his place on the horse; he’s our primary retained rider in both England and Ireland, and his recovery is reportedly going well.”
“All plans are focused on Aintree in April, but it will be intriguing to see how he handles the smaller obstacles, as he hasn’t really competed over them due to the varying styles of French hurdles.”
Willie Mullins’ I Am Maximus is set to defend his title next year and is currently at odds of 8-1 to do so.
Owner JP McManus also has the highly promising Iroko, who is competing for third in the rankings at about 20-1.
