Seventy-Year-Old Woman Dies in Solo Vehicle Crash on Route M13 en route to Durban

Durban – A woman in her 70s has tragically passed away following a single-vehicle accident on the M13 heading towards Durban, close to Kings Avenue in Westville.

According to ALS Paramedics spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, the incident occurred Monday morning, shortly after 09:00.

“When paramedics arrived at the scene, they found chaos, as the vehicle had rolled multiple times and ended up on its roof,” Jamieson reported.

“Upon assessing the scene, paramedics discovered that the driver, who was the only passenger in the vehicle, was trapped in the wreckage.”

“Sadly, the woman, believed to be in her seventies, had suffered severe injuries, and despite their best efforts, paramedics were unable to save her. She was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Jamieson cautioned that the scene remained active and would continue to be for some time.

“We urge motorists to slow down due to the current wet weather conditions,” he stated.

“It’s advisable to leave a bit earlier to reach your destination safely. Also, ensure that your vehicle’s windscreen wipers and tyres are in good working order.”

As of now, the details leading up to the crash are unclear, but officers from the SA Police Service were present at the scene.
