All Blacks Set to Challenge Springboks’ Home Winning Streak
The All Blacks have revealed the locations for their two Rugby Championship test matches against the Springboks next year.
The first test is scheduled to take place at the iconic Hampden Park in Auckland on 6 September. New Zealand boasts an outstanding unbeaten record at this venue, with 48 victories and 2 draws across 50 matches.
The second test is set for 13 September at Sky Stadium in Wellington.
This upcoming series presents the Springboks with a chance to reciprocate, having held both tests in South Africa earlier this year. Their wins in those matches marked their first Freedom Cup victory since 2009.
The Springboks have been on an impressive winning streak against the All Blacks, achieving four consecutive victories, including the Rugby World Cup final last year in France. This remarkable series began with a World Cup warm-up match at Twickenham Stadium.
By choosing to host the first test at the legendary Hampden Park, the All Blacks are putting their unbeaten record to the test. The Springboks will be eager to extend their winning momentum against their historic adversaries.
Additionally, the Springboks will compete against Australia in two Rugby Championship matches in South Africa, with the venues yet to be confirmed by SA Rugby. They will also face Argentina both at home and away before concluding the year with the Autumn Nations Series in the UK.
Importantly, the Springboks made history during the 2023 Autumn Nations Series by winning all three matches on their tour, a milestone they hadn’t reached since 2013.
