The Placepot is a betting option where you choose a horse to finish in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.

You can select multiple horses in a race – your stake is determined by the number of selections in each race. Thus, for staking it’s 2x2x2x1x2x2, totaling 32 lines.

You can place any stake starting from 5p a line, totaling £1.60. If you stake 10p a line, it amounts to £3.20, and so on. As long as at least one horse in each race finishes in a placed position, you’ll receive a payout!

Cheltenham Placepot tips – Friday, December 13th

LEG 1: That’s Nice, Country Mile

THAT’S NICE is poised to take full advantage of the 7lb allowance given to her over the boys, showcasing impressive potential after her debut victory at Warwick last month. Nico De Boinville hardly had to push her as she clinched a clever win, and she can build upon that promising start.

COUNTRY MILE delivered a strong performance in a Haydock Grade 2 last month, although he lost ground at the final flight. This firmer ground should benefit the Skelton runner, who still has significant room for improvement.

LEG 2: Caldwell Potter, Jango Baie

CALDWELL POTTER started to justify some of his hefty purchase price with a convincing victory on his chase debut at Carlisle 12 days ago. He jumped well and is expected to progress notably from that run. Previously a Grade 1 performer over hurdles, he seems hard to beat.

JANGO BAIE was also a high performer over hurdles and was disappointingly second at Aintree last seen. Nicky Henderson has been giving positive feedback about his schooling.

LEG 3: Valgrand, Tintintin

VALGRAND is expected to feel much more at ease back at this distance, having started the season with a Grade 2 win on the Old course. He romped home by 17 lengths there but was overpowered by the potentially outstanding Potters Charm over 2m5f last time here. Although carrying top weight, his initial rating could be forgiving, and he performs well on good ground.

TINTINTIN impressed with a strong fourth in the Greatwood Hurdle here last month. He returns from the same mark, offering solid place prospects once again.

LEG 4: Chianti Classico

CHIANTI CLASSICO has enough class to carry weight following his stunning comeback win at Ascot last month. He showcased his qualities by winning the Ultima at this year’s Festival and turned in a strong performance in an Aintree Grade 1. His exceptional jumping is his forte, and trainer Kim Bailey has started the season energetically.

LEG 5: Shan Blue, Shakem Up’Arry

SHAN BLUE had several strong outings towards the end of last season and put in a promising fourth on his return at Bangor last time out. He traveled well for a significant part of the race in the challenging ground and will welcome the anticipated better conditions. Although inconsistent, this is his first venture into a veterans’ race which may finally bring out his best from a reduced mark.

SHAKEM UP’ARRY tends to perform well after a break, having won the Festival Plate during his last visit to Cheltenham. Although he’s carrying an extra 6lbs today, he remains a tough competitor.

LEG 6: Mister Coffey, Delta Work

MISTER COFFEY gets one final chance from me to secure a win over fences. He returned well from a nine-month absence to deliver a solid performance on this cross-country course last time. While he finished strongly in second, the winner had already taken off. With Nico De Boinville now aware of his stamina, he can place the Nicky Henderson chaser closer to the pace, and his weight has favorably decreased.

DELTA WORK has a commendable record here and presents a big challenge. Although he seemed a bit rusty on his return at Down Royal last month, he’s expected to regain his full potential. With Rob James helping him shed 7lbs, he’s not even carrying the top weight.
