The Placepot allows you to bet by selecting a horse to be placed in the FIRST SIX races of any meeting.

You can choose more than one horse in a race—the number of selections determines your stake. Therefore, staking is calculated as 2x2x2x1x2x2, totaling 32 lines.

You can stake any amount starting from just 5p a line, totaling £1.60. A stake of 10p per line amounts to £3.20, and so on. As long as at least one horse places in each race, you can expect a payout!

Cheltenham Placepot tips – Friday, December 13th

LEG 1: That’s Nice, Country Mile

THAT’S NICE is primed to make the most of the 7lb allowance she receives from the boys, showcasing great talent with her victory at Warwick last month. Nico De Boinville barely needed to persuade her as she secured a clever win, and she can build on that promising start.

COUNTRY MILE put in a solid performance in a Haydock Grade 2 last month, although a mistake at the final flight cost him dearly. The drier ground should benefit the Skelton runner, who still has plenty of room for improvement.

LEG 2: Caldwell Potter, Jango Baie

CALDWELL POTTER started to justify his substantial purchase price with a convincing win on his chase debut at Carlisle 12 days ago. He jumped well and is expected to show significant improvement from that run. Previously a Grade 1 caliber over hurdles, he looks hard to beat.

JANGO BAIE was also an excellent performer over hurdles and was unlucky to finish second last seen at Aintree. Nicky Henderson has been making positive remarks about his schooling.

LEG 3: Valgrand, Tintintin

VALGRAND will be much more at ease back over this distance, having started the season with a Grade 2 win on the Old course. He won by 17 lengths there but found the emerging star Potters Charm too strong over 2m5f last time here. Despite carrying top weight, his initial mark may be generous, and he thrives on decent ground.

TINTINTIN impressed with a strong fourth-place finish in the Greatwood Hurdle here last month. He returns from the same mark, presenting solid place prospects once more.

LEG 4: Chianti Classico

CHIANTI CLASSICO has enough quality to give weight after his outstanding comeback victory at Ascot last month. He showcased his talent by winning the Ultima at this year’s Festival and performed admirably in an Aintree Grade 1. His incredible jumping remains his greatest asset, and trainer Kim Bailey has begun the season impressively.

LEG 5: Shan Blue, Shakem Up’Arry

SHAN BLUE had a couple of strong performances towards the end of last season and finished a promising fourth on his return at Bangor last time. He traveled well for a significant portion of the race on tricky ground and will benefit from the likely better conditions. While somewhat inconsistent, this marks his first attempt in a veterans’ race which might finally bring out his best from a declining mark.

SHAKEM UP’ARRY tends to perform well after a break and won the Festival Plate during his last visit to Cheltenham. He carries an additional 6lbs today but remains a tough competitor.

LEG 6: Mister Coffey, Delta Work

MISTER COFFEY earns one final chance from me to secure a win over fences. He made a solid return after a nine-month break on this cross-country course last time. Although he finished strongly in second, the winner had already pulled ahead. With Nico De Boinville now aware of his stamina, he can place the Nicky Henderson chaser closer to the pace, and his weight has decreased nicely.

DELTA WORK boasts an impressive track record here and poses a substantial threat. While he was a bit rusty during his return at Down Royal last month, he is expected to show his true class. With Rob James reducing his weight by 7lbs, he isn’t even carrying the top weight.
