Two Drug Traffickers Arrested at OR Tambo Airport with 4kg of Cocaine Found in Luggage
Johannesburg – Authorities apprehended two individuals at OR Tambo International Airport shortly after their arrival in South Africa on a flight from Brazil. One of the suspects was found with 4 kg of cocaine in his luggage, while the other was detected through an X-ray with ingested pellets of the drug.
Police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Amanda van Wyk reported that the alleged drug traffickers were detained on Sunday, December 15, 2024.

Lieutenant Colonel Van Wyk stated: “These Brazilian drug mules, aged 30 and 35, had just arrived from São Paulo, Brazil when they were intercepted at the airport.
“One of the suspects was discovered with over 4kg of cocaine in his luggage, while a medical X-ray confirmed the presence of drug ‘bullets’ ingested by the other mule.
“A total of fifteen ‘bullets’ containing cocaine have been recovered.”

The detained suspects are anticipated to appear before the Kempton Park Magistrate’s Court later this week on charges linked to drug trafficking.
Vigilant officers at the airport have successfully apprehended numerous drug traffickers in recent weeks.
