Ben Youssef: Morris was not signed by us

Khalil Ben Youssef, the assistant coach of Kaizer Chiefs, has expressed an unexpected viewpoint on Tashreeq Morris and the agile Congolese winger, Christan Saile.

Morris is set to join the Chiefs from SuperSport United, while Saile is anticipated to move in the opposite direction.

The player previously joined SuperSport in October of last year on a free transfer after departing Sekhukhune United at the conclusion of the last season.

The former Babina Noko standout has scored two goals in nine matches for Gavin Hunt’s team this season, including one goal against the Chiefs during their league clash.

However, Khalil remarked that he has yet to see Morris, as their last meeting was during the game against SuperSport, and pointed out that Saile is still with the team at Naturena.

“We acquired Morris, really? When did we officially bring him on board? I’ve been preoccupied and haven’t seen him,” Khalil inquired curiously on Thursday.

“I have not seen Morris with our team; I only recognized him during our game against them. As for Saile, he is here and was with me just today.”

In contrast, Saile, who enjoyed a regular spot last season, missed Amakhosi’s matches against Stellenbosch, Golden Arrows, and Sekhukhune United.

The Congolese player last appeared in Chiefs’ 1-0 loss to Cape Town City at the beginning of the year.

Morris, on the other hand, was not available for SuperSport United’s match against Polokwane City on Friday due to a suspension stemming from a red card received in the game against his former club, Sekhukhune, on January 12.
