THE OUTLAW (6.30 Kempton, nap)
This horse showcased impressive form with a strong finish at Chelmsford 20 days ago, his second handicap race. He seemed in control throughout and pulled away from his rivals in the closing stages. A 6lb weight increase appears justified, and it wouldn’t be surprising if Ralph Beckett’s colt finds himself in tougher races soon.
OPERA BALLO (5.30 Kempton, nb)
This horse, trained by Charlie Appleby, achieved success in both divisions of this maiden last season with top-class competitors. This son of Ghaiyyath is set for a compelling debut, and Billy Loughnane will be keen to make the most of this opportunity for the team in blue.
SULLIVAN BAY (8.30 Kempton, treble)
He has performed consistently well over hurdles and on all-weather tracks. This season, he has not finished outside the top four and demonstrated his best form with a victory over this distance at Chelmsford in October. He’s a reasonable 6lb higher than that victory and should remain competitive.
TROPICAL RETREAT (2.17 Dundalk, Lucky 15)
This horse made an impression with a debut fourth in a large field here last month. He got off to a fast start but managed to hold his ground. Returning from six furlongs appears to be a wise choice, and he should have gained valuable experience from that outing.
