Gogo Maweni’s Family Faces Escalating Turmoil as Brother-in-law is Arrested for Sangoma Murders

She recently got out on bail for her assault case, but now her supposed brother-in-law, Lindani Mgube, has been arrested for not just one, but two murders!

According to reports from the streets (and News24), Mgube—who is rumored to be the brother of Gogo Maweni’s husband, Sabelo—was arrested on 31 January 2025 for allegedly shooting two traditional healers, Faith Mafilika (also known as Baba Vondwe Mkhatshwa) and Bandile Kubheka. Here’s the twist? These two are said to have been close to Maweni.

Now, let’s address the major issue: Maweni is reportedly under investigation for five murder cases spanning from 2020 to 2024.
It’s claimed that two of these occurred in Orange Farm around April 2024. Makes you think! Mafilika’s family is just relieved that someone is finally being arrested, but they’re also questioning why it took so long.
Mgube has already appeared in court on 3 and 5 February and will remain in custody until his next court appearance on 12 February for a bail hearing.

In the meantime, Gogo Maweni returned home to a hero’s welcome from her fans, but the streets are still eyeing her with suspicion.
