Resident Reports Foul Smell
The investigation began when a worried resident of a housing complex reached out to the Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) Operations Centre.
The resident reported a strong, decaying odor coming from a nearby house.

RUSA officers were quickly dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they were guided inside the home, where they encountered the badly decomposed body of a man.
Victim Identified By Neighbours
The victim was found hanging by a rope secured to a burglar bar.
Neighbours confirmed his identity, stating that he had last been seen socializing with friends on Thursday, March 6, 2025.
According to the neighbours, his family had been unable to contact him since then, as his phone remained unanswered.
Friend Makes Disturbing Discovery
Neighbours notified the victim’s family about the unpleasant smell coming from the house.
A friend of the victim entered the home after noticing the door was ajar, leading to the shocking discovery.
