SA Presidency Reacts to ‘Unfortunate Removal’ of Ambassador Ebrahim Rasool from the US

Pretoria – The Presidency has acknowledged the unfortunate expulsion of South Africa’s Ambassador to the United States, Ebrahim Rasool.

In a brief statement released early on Saturday, (15 March 2025), the Presidency urged “all relevant and concerned parties to uphold the established diplomatic decorum in their interactions regarding this matter.”

Vincent Magwenya, spokesperson for President Cyril Ramaphosa, stated: “South Africa is steadfast in its commitment to fostering a mutually advantageous relationship with the United States of America.”
