Newcastle Resolves Kit Disagreement with Former Owner Mike Ashley After Barring Sports Direct from Jersey Sales

Ashley also lodged a £1.5 million claim against the St James’ Park club.
His store has been prohibited from selling this season’s kits, forcing fans to acquire them exclusively from the club’s official store, adidas, or JD Sports.
His financial losses from this ban are projected to increase significantly following the club’s Carabao Cup triumph over the weekend.
Newcastle’s victory marked the end of a 70-year wait for a trophy, leading to a likely surge in demand for these commemorative kits.
Recent financial statements have suggested that the club was “confident of success in the legal case.”
Nonetheless, Newcastle, adidas, and JD Sports have now reached a confidential agreement with Ashley and Sports Direct.
This agreement, known as a ‘Tomlin Order’, is legally enforceable should either party fail to adhere to its terms.
Legal representatives for Sports Direct argued that barring the “home of football supplies” from selling affordable jerseys would adversely affect fans.
