Margeman’s Challenge Within SuperSport’s Hardships

SuperSport United’s central midfielder Grant Margeman is finding it challenging and disheartening to witness his team occupying the relegation zone.

Margeman, a vital asset for SuperSport, suffered a torn ACL injury at the beginning of the season.

Currently, Amatsantsa A Pitori sits in 15th place with 21 points from 21 matches, largely due to Margeman’s absence, where he had formed a solid partnership with Siphesihle Ndlovu.

Furthermore, SuperSport has only managed to secure five victories out of 21 matches and faced elimination from the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals at the hands of Orlando Pirates. Recently, Coach Gavin Hunt was let go, with his assistant, Andre Arendse, stepping in as the interim coach for the remainder of the season.

“Yeah, it’s frustrating, you know; as a player, you wish to be part of the team, you want to be on the pitch, and contribute to your teammates, so it’s been quite challenging, especially for me,” Margeman shared.

The 26-year-old is looking forward to the upcoming fixtures, emphasizing the importance of taking it one match at a time.

“It’s crucial for us to take each game as it comes and adhere to coach Andre’s instructions from the get-go, to meet his expectations for the players,” he mentioned.

“The players selected for Sunday need to step up and execute their roles effectively.”

SuperSport aims to return to form as they prepare to face Cape Town City at the Peter Mokaba Stadium on Sunday (17:45).
