Robbie Savage, the manager of MACCLESFIELD, has guided his non-league team to a remarkable title win, fueled by a motivational half-time address.

During his first season, the former pundit secured the Northern Premier League title just last week.

A documentary from the BBC is set to chronicle the Welsh manager’s first season as coach of Macclesfield, highlighting a truly extraordinary campaign.

The film will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the pivotal match against Bamber Bridge at Moss Rose.

After a disappointing first half with Bamber Bridge leading 1-0, the ex-Manchester United academy player shared his frustrations with the team in the locker room.

Savage stated: “Not good enough. Listen, I’m not going to shout, but what is going on with you?!”

“Are you ready for a fight? Can you perform in front of a big crowd? Because you have the potential for so much more.”

“Let’s go out and win the league. Come on!”

That uplifting speech turned out to be a game-changer, as Macclesfield came back to secure a 2-1 victory.

This win ultimately granted them promotion to the National League North for the next season.

Savage and his team are now just two tiers away from reaching the English Football League.
