Surge in CryptoPunks Sales Drives NFT Sales Up 4.5% to $102.8 Million
While the overall market faces a downturn, the non-fungible token (NFT) sector demonstrates robustness, with sales volume rising by 4.5% to reach $102.8 million.
Bitcoin has seen its price fall below $83,000 over the past week, whereas Ethereum remains stable around the $1,800 mark. The global crypto market capitalization currently stands at $2.71 trillion, down from last week’s $2.77 trillion.
Data from CryptoSlam reveals that the NFT sales volume from last week was $100.9 million, indicating a slight recovery for the industry this week.
The number of NFT buyers has surged by 28.9% to 451,436, alongside NFT sellers increasing by 26.5% to 285,272. However, the total number of NFT transactions has declined by 2.8% to 1,614,680.
Ethereum retains its leading status
The Ethereum (ETH) blockchain continues to lead the market with $32 million in sales, reflecting a 19.4% increase compared to last week.
Polygon (POL) has risen to the second position with an impressive $18.1 million in sales volume, marking a significant 33.1% increase. This advancement has pushed Solana (SOL) down the rankings, as its sales have declined by 4.4% to $8.7 million.
Mythos Chain takes the third spot with $13.7 million in sales, even though it experienced a 12.8% drop from the previous week. Bitcoin (BTC) ranks fourth with $10.1 million, reflecting a substantial 40.7% reduction in NFT sales volume.
Ethereum still holds the majority of wash trading at $2.6 million, although this figure has decreased by 9.9% from the prior week.
In collection rankings, Courtyard on Polygon leads with $15.7 million in sales, up 33.1%. DMarket follows in second place with $8.5 million, an 18.3% decrease from last week.
CryptoPunks showcases the most remarkable growth, with sales surging by 141.4% to $6.3 million. This collection’s notable success is highlighted by the week’s top individual NFT sale – CryptoPunks #2967, which sold for 420 ETH ($843,070).
Guild of Guardians Heroes ranks fourth, achieving $5.5 million in sales, which is a minor decline of 1.8%. Bitcoin’s BRC-20 NFTs complete the top five with $2.7 million in sales, down 19% from the week before.
