Cyril Ramaphosa, President of South Africa, Sends Eid-al-Fitr Wishes to the Muslim Community
Pretoria – President Cyril Ramaphosa has extended his best wishes to the Muslim community as they get ready to celebrate Eid-al-Fitr, which signifies the conclusion of the fasting month of Ramadaan.
In his message, President Ramaphosa stated: “This year, Eid-al-Fitr coincides with Human Rights Month, during which we honor our constitutional framework that ensures rights and freedoms for everyone, including the freedom of religion.
“As we send our warm regards to our Muslim fellow citizens on this significant occasion, let us be inspired by the shared values that connect us all, such as generosity, compassion, and empathy.”
The United Ulama Council of South Africa noted that the sighting of the moon, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan, occurred on Sunday.
