After a close call on the road, Darts Champion Cameron Menzies promises to step down from his second job following his Players Championship victory.
CAMERON MENZIES secured his second Players Championship title after almost missing the event due to heavy traffic on the M1.
The Ayrshire player overcame Peter Wright with an 8-3 win in the final held in Leicester, despite being delayed by a serious accident on his way.

Menzies, aged 35, expressed his desire to leave plumbing behind to focus entirely on his passion for darts.
He shared, “I was really anxious about being late.
“I had to inform the PDC due to the time constraints, notifying them I could potentially arrive 10 or 20 minutes late.
“There was a significant accident on the M1, and my thoughts are with those involved, as it appeared severe.
“The incident happened southbound, but they also closed northbound traffic.
“An air ambulance was dispatched, and I was stuck for two hours.”
Menzies, who shares a management team with Gary Anderson, is optimistic about his development by dedicating himself to darts full-time.
He indicated, “I may withdraw from my upcoming match. The reason is that I’m on the verge of quitting my job.

“Transitioning to darts as my full-time career feels surreal; my journey in darts is genuinely taking off, and it’s my ambition.”

He added, “That’s two finals, both wins, plus a few semifinal appearances.
“I can hardly believe it; I thought my first win was a fluke.
“To secure two titles, I’m overjoyed. It wasn’t just luck, if that makes any sense.
“Peter played darts with my father. Even before I joined the PDC for the Grand Slam, he took the time to help me practice my finishes.
