The sparring occurred prior to his match with Mike Tyson

Moreover, the two recently had a phone conversation in which they reached an unexpected agreement to fight in 2026.

This news comes alongside a video that circulated on social media, showing Paul flooring a heavyweight sparring partner.

The footage highlights Paul knocking down his sparring partner with an overhand right, eliciting a variety of reactions from fans.

One fan commented: “Please put him in the ring with AJ so he can finish AJ’s career.”

Another stated: “Jake Paul showcasing his strength.”

On the flip side, a critic observed: “It’s sparring. It happens to everyone.”

Another added: “Of course he dropped him; look at where his left hand is positioned.”

While the video has just re-emerged, it was originally uploaded to Paul’s YouTube channel back in November, prior to his face-off with Mike Tyson.

SunSport has confirmed that the sparring partner involved is DeAndre Savage, who holds a record of 10-0, all by knockout.

He generally competes at a weight range of 265 lbs to 300 lbs (18 st 9 lb – 21 st 4 lb) and spent time training in Paul’s camp in Puerto Rico last year.

34-year-old Savage acknowledged that he was indeed knocked down by Paul.

He told Pro Boxing Fans: “Yeah, that was me.

“Jake caught me with a solid right hand, and I just went down to one knee before getting back up. That was all there was to it.”

Paul, at 28, bulked up to 16 st 2 lb for his controversial match against Tyson, who came out of retirement at age 58.

He won the eight-round decision, achieving over 100 MILLION views on Netflix — despite the controversy surrounding the age gap.

However, Paul is looking to return to the 200 lb cruiserweight limit of 14 st 4 lb for a matchup with Canelo Alvarez.

Negotiations for a mega-fight on May 3 in Las Vegas were advanced until Canelo opted out to sign with Saudi’s Turki Alalshikh instead.

These developments have led Paul to reassess his approach and call out Joshua, 35, who hasn’t fought since his knockout loss to Daniel Dubois, 27, in September.

Furthermore, Paul’s promotional associate, Nakisa Bidarian, stated that a fight is “100 percent realistic” for next year.

Bidarian informed SunSport: “Jake realizes that he needs more in-ring experience to compete effectively against Anthony Joshua.

“Thus, we are not rushing into a fight with Joshua. We’re not relying on Jake facing Anthony Joshua in 2025 for our success.”

“We intend to have at least two Jake Paul fights in 2025, and then we will definitely talk about Jake Paul versus Anthony Joshua in 2026.”

Bidarian revealed that Paul is also targeting up to three fights in 2026.

He mentioned: “We are actively working on scheduling Jake’s summer fight and will release details when we’re ready.

“Following that, we’re planning Jake’s next fight for the timeframe from October to December.

“The objective is for Jake to have two fights in 2025 and two to three fights in 2026.”
