Following their League Cup win, Chelsea is keen to secure a place in this year’s FA Cup final during their match at Kingsmeadow on Saturday.

They will then travel to Spain on April 20th for the first leg of a vital Champions League semifinal against Barcelona.

The victor of the matchup between Bompastor’s squad and their rivals will face either Manchester City or reigning champions Manchester United at Wembley on May 18.

Moreover, Chelsea is determined to avoid further lost points in the league as they chase their eighth Women’s Super League crown.

A triumph would mark Bompastor’s first title since taking charge last summer.

Prior to that, Amber Whiteley’s Reds are set to meet the Blues in a lunchtime match, aiming for their first FA Cup final appearance since 2023.

Chelsea manager Bompastor, whose team captured this year’s League Cup, stated: “We need to adopt a ruthless mentality as a group.

“Our best display was showcased in the second leg against Man City in the Champions League quarter-finals.

“Also, the first 30 minutes against West Ham highlighted our potential.

“We are in three competitive tournaments, allowing us to face some of the best teams in Europe in crucial games.

“This is a chance for us to exhibit our highest standards and capabilities.”

While Liverpool stunned Arsenal to advance to the FA Cup semifinals, they head into today’s match regarded as the underdogs.

The Reds have experienced 16 losses in their past 19 meetings with Chelsea in all competitions.

Moreover, they were knocked out by the Blues in the fourth round of this tournament during the 2022-23 season.

Despite Chelsea being the favorites, Bompastor is wary of underestimating her adversaries.

This caution is amplified by Chelsea’s recent points drop against West Ham prior to the international break.

She stressed: “Exhibiting a ruthless mentality will be essential for us to show up and perform.

“We must maintain consistency throughout the match from start to finish.

“In the West Ham game, we started strong and could have won by three or four goals.

“We need to be aggressive; this is a semi-final, and we will face a team that is highly motivated.”

Saturday’s match follows an international break during which two of Chelsea’s England stars, Keira Walsh and Aggie Beever-Jones, achieved their first senior international goals.

Bompastor commented: “All English fans can take pride in having these players at Chelsea and representing England.

“They are world-class talents and are making a significant impact on women’s football.”

On the other hand, Whiteley’s Reds strive to be the first Liverpool team to reach an FA Cup final in almost three decades.

Their last trophy decider appearance was in 1996.

During that final, they lost in penalties to a Croydon team led by Hope Powell.
