Rooney Reveals Arsenal-Real Madrid Combined XI, Fans Understand Why He Keeps Getting Fired

The Premier League side shocked the defending European champions with a remarkable 3-0 win in the first leg last week.
Two breathtaking free-kicks from Declan Rice were completed with a beautifully curled effort by Mikel Merino, compelling Madrid to realize they must make history for a comeback.
Arsenal supporters are hopeful about advancing to the semi-finals, with some even donning ‘Champions League WINNERS‘ shirts in support during their match against Brentford last Saturday.
Fans are brimming with confidence after observing Mikel Arteta’s defense successfully neutralize superstars Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr last Tuesday.
This has prompted the Emirates faithful to criticize Rooney for excluding multiple Arsenal players from his combined XI.
In his discussion with TNT, Rooney started by selecting world-class goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois over David Raya, which many found acceptable.
However, fans were left bewildered when he opted for Lucas Vasquez – a makeshift right-back for Madrid – instead of Jurrien Timber.
The Manchester United icon could be understood for choosing Antonio Rudiger over Jakub Kiwior and selecting William Saliba above Raul Asencio.

Rooney also picked Myles Lewis-Skelly instead of David Alaba for the left-back position.
The questionable selections kept coming as Eduardo Camavinga – who was sent off at the Emirates – was chosen over Thomas Partey.

Lastly, Rice was included over Federico Valverde as the final Arsenal player in the lineup.
This meant Jude Bellingham was picked over Martin Odegaard.
In a disappointing twist, Bukayo Saka was completely LEFT OUT in favor of Rodrygo on the right wing.
Vinicius and Mbappe were predictable selections to complete the lineup ahead of Gabriel Martinelli and Merino.
Unsurprisingly, Arsenal fans were furious about Rooney’s choices, with many ridiculing the former England striker regarding his unimpressive managerial career.
One remarked: “Not including Saka over Rodrygo must be one of the most absurd decisions I’ve ever seen.”
Another joked: “At last, I’ve figured out why he frequently gets dismissed… his poor first-team selections.”

Another commented: “Camavinga over Partey… This guy needs to be examined. Rodrigo and Vasquez over Saka and Timber.”
A third added: “Choosing Lucas Vasquez over Timber is simply football malpractice!”
Rooney found himself needing to defend his choices on live television after being caught humorously whispering behind Gabby Logan’s back on Tuesday night.
Meanwhile, fans were dismayed by the near comebacks of Aston Villa and Borussia Dortmund from the previous night.
After falling behind 5-1 on aggregate, Villa made an astonishing comeback to trim the deficit to 5-4 over two legs.
They could have advanced even further had they not squandered numerous opportunities at Villa Park.
Meanwhile, Dortmund also gave Barcelona a scare, nearly closing in on a 5-3 aggregate scoreline on Tuesday night.
