This offspring of the renowned Kingman has become the second favorite for the 2,000 Guineas following an impressive comeback win at Kempton last month.
However, connections have repeatedly mentioned that Newmarket might be a bit early for him, with eyes set on the Irish version of the colts’ Classic later this month.
The effortless victory at Kempton was just his second racecourse outing, significantly enhancing his debut success at Sandown last September.
Ryan Moore will be in the saddle for the first time today, poised to guide him into Classic contention.
ALPINE TRAIL (1.45 Newmarket, nb).
While he hasn’t faced tough competitors in his two previous outings, he demonstrated excellent form with a win at Yarmouth earlier this month.

Last season, he performed well at the challenging Goodwood course, securing third place in a tough handicap during the Glorious meeting, and quick ground suits Brian Meehan’s horse perfectly.
