At 26, Haney secured a unimpressive unanimous decision over Ramirez in Times Square, New York, on Friday night.
This match failed to excite, providing little in terms of standout performances from either fighter.
It was so underwhelming that many labeled it as “the most disappointing fight of the year.”
This elicited responses from various notable boxing personalities on social media.
Conor Benn, who was in New York just a week following his own defeat to Chris Eubank Jr, struggled to stay alert during the bout.
He tweeted: “The judges won’t have a scorecard because they’re all asleep.”
Dillon Danis commented: “Devin Haney has truly put the city that never sleeps to sleep.”
Dillian Whyte remarked: “This Haney fight is garbage. I can’t believe I stayed up for this.”

Jack Catterall quipped: “You all call me boring, but this makes me seem like prime Marvin Hagler.”
Hall of Fame commentator Jim Lampley added: “If any fight could induce a nap in Times Square, it would be this one.”
The statistics mirrored the critical analysis.
According to 40 years of CompuBox data, only three 12-round matches have reported fewer landed punches.
Haney struck Ramirez 70 times, while Ramirez landed only 30 punches in a disappointing fight.
This total of 110 punches is less than one-fifth of the 582 documented during the Eubank-Benn fight in North London.
The maximum number of punches landed by either fighter in a single round was nine from Haney in the ninth round.
Haney connected nearly one-third of his strikes, while Ramirez’s accuracy was merely 14.3 percent.
In the main event, Ryan Garcia made a dramatic entrance to Times Square in a Batmobile but ended in tears after being knocked down by Rolly Romero in a surprising upset.
