Tragic Shooting on Freemantle Road: Two Dead and One Injured in Hillary Suburb
Durban – Three people have been shot, with two of them losing their lives, along Freemantle Road in the Hillary area of Ethekwini, KwaZulu-Natal.
According to spokesperson Garrith Jamieson, ALS Paramedics responded to multiple reports of the shooting shortly after 20:00 on Friday.
“Initial reports suggested that three individuals had been shot multiple times and were in critical condition,” Jamieson stated.
“Upon arrival, ALS Paramedics found SAPS [SA Police Service], numerous security companies, and EMRS already at the scene.
“Paramedics determined that three victims had sustained gunshot wounds: two males and one female, all believed to be in their 30s.
“Unfortunately, one male and one female had sustained fatal injuries, and there was nothing Paramedics could do to save them; they were pronounced dead at the scene.”
Jamieson noted that the third victim had a gunshot wound to his leg and received treatment at the scene before being rushed to a nearby hospital.
“At the moment, the circumstances surrounding the shooting remain unclear; however, SAPS will carry out further investigations,” Jamieson added.
No arrests have been made so far.
