A 34-year-old bride, who had been married for just a month, was rescued from a near-drowning incident at Umdloti Beach, KwaZulu-Natal, on Sunday evening following a suicide attempt.
At 18:25, Reaction Unit South Africa (RUSA) received an urgent call from the bride’s family, indicating that she had been feeling suicidal after a domestic disagreement.

The family had received a troubling message from her, which mentioned that she was at the beach.
Upon reaching Umdloti Beach, the family found her car but were unable to locate her, prompting them to contact RUSA for assistance.

Dramatic Rescue
Kieran Ramjogi, Operations Manager at RUSA, promptly joined the family in their search for the woman.
Using torches and scanning the shoreline, they discovered her floating in the water, semi-conscious.
