PSL Revises Schedule for City vs. Milford Match Following Zondi Tragedy
The match for the Motsepe Foundation Championship between Durban City and Milford, originally postponed on April 22 at Chatsworth Stadium due to the unfortunate death of Sinamandla Zondi, is set to resume on Wednesday at 19:30.
The league paused the match after 45 minutes, and it will continue from that point. All stats recorded up to then will remain intact. According to PSL regulations, since the game was interrupted in the first half due to a tragedy, the remaining 45 minutes will be played without starting the match anew.
Zondi collapsed on April 22 and received prompt medical assistance at the venue before being swiftly taken to Chatsmed Garden Hospital.
This incident significantly impacted the players and coaching staff of Durban City, leading to the suspension of the match. Sadly, Zondi passed away at the hospital shortly before 8:00 PM.
After the suspension of that match, Durban City achieved victories in their next two games, accumulating 52 points from 27 matches. They triumphed over Pretoria Callies and JDR Stars, with the latter victory happening last weekend.

Under the coaching of Simo Dladla and assistant Pitso Dladla, Durban City, formerly Maritzburg United and now based in Durban, needs just four more points to secure promotion to the Betway Premiership for the upcoming season.
If they achieve promotion, which appears likely, it will be the first time three Durban teams compete in the Betway Premiership during a single season.
This situation depends on Golden Arrows, currently in the relegation zone after not winning their last four matches and sitting in 13th place, earning enough points in their final five games to escape relegation.
