Justice Minister Kubayi Offers Support to Family of Slain Prosecutor Elona Sombulula in Ngcobo

Ngcobo – Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development, Mmamoloko Kubayi, has visited the family of the deceased Prosecutor Elona Sombulula in Ngcobo, Eastern Cape, to extend her condolences.

Sombulula, who worked as a prosecutor at the Tsolo Magistrate’s Court, was esteemed for his professionalism, integrity, and unwavering dedication to justice.

The 36-year-old prosecutor tragically lost his life in what appears to have been a targeted attack on the evening of Tuesday, 29 April 2025, under mysterious circumstances.

The motive for the attack remains unspecified and is currently the subject of an investigation.

On Tuesday morning, Minister Kubayi conveyed her heartfelt condolences and assured the family of the department’s ongoing support.

She also reaffirmed the government’s dedication to ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice.
